Meet the ‘Peoples’

head
Kelsey Peoples, MS, RDN (Owner and Counselor)

Kelsey holds a B.A. in Psychology from Cornell University with a minor in Nutrition in addition to an M.S. in Nutrition and Food Science from Montclair State University.

She has practiced throughout the field of nutrition as an internationally published nutrition researcher, a clinical dietitian in a top medical center in New Jersey, and the sole dietitian at a rehabilitation and long term care center.

Kelsey founded The Peoples Plate out of her desire to help clients create real change in their lives. Sessions are based upon her philosophy that there are three critical components that can help any client make the nutrition-related changes that they need:

  1. Learn science-based nutrition information to fully understand healthy food choices, how our bodies respond to different foods, why certain foods are more nourishing than others, and how to personalize your diet based on your own medical history
  2. Develop behavioral skills that will actually work with your lifestyle and improve your routine food choices, creating new patterns for a healthier life
  3. Find a sustainable balance that will help you be successful in the long run, whether that means weight loss, following a therapeutic diet for a medical condition, or simply improving your overall diet quality.

Counseling can take place in our Ramsey, NJ office or virtually via video sessions with our HIPAA-compliant online platform, which allows you to book sessions that are convenience and can fit into your busy lifestyle. You can also book sessions online, submit any paperwork directly through the online portal, share digital food diaries with Kelsey, and communicate with Kelsey easily between sessions.
